Our department participates in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Centralized Application System (CSDCAS) which allows applicants to submit their materials electronically and track their progress towards completing the application process. Applicants can have their transcripts reviewed and verified by the committee, letters of recommendation stored electronically, and their personal statement submitted online. This process ensures that materials will not be lost in the mail or misplaced.
Note: It may take several weeks for CSDCAS to verify your application and associated documents.
All students potentially entering the graduate program must complete the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE). GRE scores should be sent to the “University of Hawai`i at Mānoa” as a recipient; with the institution code: 4867.
The GRE is one of many factors considered by UHM CSD’s selection committee. Undergraduate GPA, Post-Baccalaureate Unclassified GPA, letters of recommendation, personal statement, and previous work experience also play important roles in determining a student’s success.
Note: Since scores may take up to several weeks to be reported, plan your test date accordingly before the application deadline of January 15.
Grade Point Average (GPA):
All students applying to the graduate program must have an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 1.0-4.0 scale (B average).
Applicants must submit official transcripts to: (1) CSDCAS, and (2) the Office of Graduate Education – Student Services at the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa from each college or university institution attended, regardless of number or credits or length of time attended, including any study abroad or exchange programs, summer programs, non-degree work and extension programs. Transcripts must be received directly from the institution.
